La isla del Lido es un banco de arena largo y estrecho que forma una barrera natural entre el mar Adriático y la laguna de Venecia. Fue descubierta por los escritores románticos ingleses del siglo XIX y se convirtió en destino vacacional a principios del XX cuando empezaba a despertar el culto por la playa.

Lido Island is a sandbar long narrow forming a natural barrier between the Adriatic and the lagoon of Venice. It was discovered by the English Romantic writers of the nineteenth century and became a vacation destination in the early twentieth century when the cult began to awaken on the beach.
